"The couples that Eric has worked with have praised his ability to capture emotions through his photographs." reviewed over 150 Cleveland wedding photographers and I was selected as one of the best wedding photographers in Cleveland, Ohio! How cool is that!?

Hey, I'm Eric!

It's always tough to sum yourself up in these bio sections, but there are a few things you should DEFINITELY know about me (aside from just the fact that I'm a wedding photographer in Akron, Ohio). I'm obsessed with my amazing, beautiful wife, Claire, our little bundles of joy, Lucas and Grayson, and our incredibly sweet and energetic puppy, Cherry (okay, she's technically 7 years old, but she'll always be my little puppy). We adopted her, so we're not 100% sure what kind of dog she is, but I'm fairly certain she's a purebred Sweetheart (:

Hanging out with my family is definitely my favorite thing in the world, but a close second is hanging out with amazing couples on the best day of their lives! The reason I love being a wedding photographer so much is because I know what it's like to marry my best friend and to have that friendship become stronger and stronger as the years go on. Every time I'm with a couple of best friends on their wedding day, I still get those butterflies in my stomach the same way I did on my wedding day (: Also, you'll probably notice that I end A LOT of sentences with either an exclamation point or a smiley face. I can't help it. I smile a lot.

I'm an Akron wedding photographer, but I serve all of Northeast Ohio, including Akron, Canton, Cleveland and all of the surrounding areas. The couples I work with are best friends and love having fun and laughing together. My passion is capturing that "marrying my best friend" feeling and telling the story of that friendship through bright, vibrant, colorful photography. I believe that genuine, candid emotion will always tell that story better than heavily posed wedding photos.

I don't want to just capture the way your wedding looks, I want to capture the way it feels. 99% of the photos I take on your wedding day are completely candid to really capture the emotions of the day as they're unfolding. Of course, there will always be that 1% of posed photos we'll take because those are the ones that grandma will hang on her fridge and brag about to all of her friends (: I know that any time my wife and I look through our wedding photos it's always the candid photos of us being us that make us smile the biggest :D

But enough about me, I'd love to learn more about you and your fiancé! Check out my portfolio and read some reviews from past couples to get a feel for what it's like to have me as your wedding photographer, then use the form on the bottom of any page to tell me about your special day (: Talk to you soon!

Kind Words From New Friends

Wedding at Landoll's Mohican Castle in Loudonville, Ohio

Gabrielle & Matt

"Where do we even begin with Eric.... hands down the best overall wedding photography experience! From our engagement photo session (that we LOVED) where Eric made the couple hours we had together feel like three friends just hanging out and laughing. Not once did it feel staged, forced or unnatural and that shined through in the end results. Fast forward to our wedding day, we couldn’t have asked for a more prompt, professional wedding photographer who knows EXACTLY how to get the most natural, candid moments of that day that actually captured our true emotions. Beyond just being a wedding photographer, Eric was an amazing person to be around and work with. Such a genuine, down to earth guy who helps bring the calm to the storm of nerves you’ll feel on your big day. If you want the total package, Eric is your guy!"

"Okay! So Eric is seriously the sweetest, easiest going, kindest human being. From our first phone conversation, we knew we would get along! He was funny, personable and so ready to go for a hike with us! Our engagement session included all four of our dogs. One has some serious health stuff going on including a partially torn ACL. While my fiancé and I were getting frustrated, Eric was relaxed and patient. I'm not going to lie, it was seriously like being out in the woods with one of our friends. We genuinely had fun, laughed and he caught it. He also took some awesome shots of our dogs. And we love that! He showed up in hiking boots, got muddy, and we got off trail for some awesome pictures!! We want to do another engagement shoot just to hang out with him💕💕 He had our pictures to us in a week and they are beautiful! The colors, shots, his editing. Beautiful."

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to all the questions you have and some you didn't even know you had but when you see them you're like, "yeah, I was definitely going to ask that... I just forgot..."

What is your wedding photography style?

I would describe my wedding photography style as bright, colorful, vibrant, and candid. I prefer candid photos using natural light to really capture the way your wedding day feels. Posed photos are great, and I will certainly provide instruction during family photos and bridal party photos, but nothing will ever tell the story of your wedding day the way genuine, raw displays of emotion will.

We aren't good at having our photos taken and we're worried they're going to look awkward and forced. Can you help??

Don't worry, you're in good hands! Everyone looks a little awkward when you tell them to stand still and hold a smile... There will be none of that. As a candid wedding photographer, getting real, natural reactions and emotions out of couples is kind of my thing (: I've got a ton of games and prompts I love to use that bring out genuine smiles and laughs. Combine that with how much fun you'll be having and how comfortable you'll feel while taking your photos and you'll be wondering if a career in modeling is in your future (; You have enough things to worry about after you get engaged. Photos shouldn't be one of them.

You're an Akron wedding photographer, so do you charge travel fees if I'm looking for a wedding photographer in Canton, Cleveland or anywhere else within Northeast Ohio?

Nope! Not a penny more than if your wedding were right here in Akron, Ohio! While it may seem like you have to be limited to searching for "wedding photographers near me," to find a wedding photographer that will capture your wedding day without charging you an arm and a leg in travel fees, I'm definitely one of the few that doesn't mind traveling to be with you on your wedding day (: You and your fiancé pick the perfect venue that will allow you have the wedding day of your dreams and I'll be there to capture it - whether it's in Akron or not and even if I didn't show up in the search results for "wedding photographers near me." In Google's eyes, I may be an Akron, Canton & Cleveland wedding photographer, but I'm more of an all-around Northeast Ohio wedding photographer (:

Can we see a full gallery from another wedding?

Definitely! In fact, I always send a couple of links to full wedding day galleries anytime I respond to an inquiry. As wedding photographers, we love to show off our favorite wedding photos, but full wedding day galleries are a great way for you to see the quality of photographs you'll receive over the course of an entire wedding day!

How important is it to get to know our wedding photographer before our wedding day?

Think about it this way - of all the wedding vendors that will be there on your wedding day, who is the only one you’ll be with throughout the ENTIRE day? Your wedding photographer! From getting ready before the ceremony to the fun and dancing at your reception, your wedding photographer is there spending the entire day with you two! It’s incredibly important that you don't just hire a wedding photographer that can take great photos (to be honest, there are a lot of Northeast Ohio wedding photographers that take incredible wedding photos), but that you choose a wedding photographer that is going to make you feel comfortable and allow you to be yourselves. That is something that often goes overlooked in the wedding photographer hiring process but is something that will 100% make a difference in the way your day feels and the way your wedding photos turn out!

How many wedding photos will we get and when will you deliver them to us?

Every wedding day is slightly different, but typically I’ll deliver between 60-70 photos per hour of wedding photography coverage. The same applies for engagement photo sessions as well. I aim for high-quality, not high-quantity. I would rather deliver incredible wedding photos that make you say, “WOW!” than to deliver 2,000 “okay” wedding photos. My goal is to deliver all your wedding photos to you within 2 weeks after your wedding day!

How does payment work if we choose you as our wedding photographer and are you going to surprise us with any hidden fees or charges?

No hidden fees or shady charges, I promise! In fact, it’s specifically in my wedding photography contract that there will be no fees, taxes, or charges that we’ve not previously agreed upon. As far as payment goes, when booking 6 or more hours of wedding photography coverage, a 50% initial deposit will reserve your wedding date. The remaining 50% balance is due one month before your wedding date. When booking less than 6 hours of wedding photography coverage, the total price of your wedding photography package will be due to reserve your wedding date.

Tell me about your special day!

Once I know the details of your wedding day, I'll send you an email with pricing and availability, as well as a few links to full client galleries from past weddings for you to check out. I can't wait to hear from you!

For general questions, feel free to email me:

Engagement sessions are free when booking 8+ hours of wedding day coverage or +$300 if booking less than 8 hours of wedding day coverage.

**Need help deciding? A quick way to estimate how much photography coverage you'll need is to start about 3 hours prior to your ceremony and end about 2 hours before your reception ends (unless you're having a sparkler exit!) For example, if your ceremony is at 2pm and your reception ends at 11pm, you'd most likely want photography coverage from 11am - 9pm (10 hours). This is just a rough guideline to use as a starting point and I can definitely help you figure out exactly how much coverage you'll need (:

This helps me better understand what you and your fiancé like!
